I made these colorful rainbow swirl sugar cookies the other night because we were woefully lacking in treats since our Halloween candy has been pretty well picked over.
Here is my recipe for my basic sugar cookie dough. I use this for Christmas cutout Santa cookies too!
Ingredients:
2 cups butter
2 cups sugar
2 egg yolks
6oz cream cheese
5 cups + flour
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 tsp. almond extract
Mix all together & refrigerate for 2-3 hours
I separated the dough by half, then divided one half into equal portions to make the different colors for the rainbow. You can use any food colors you prefer. I wore vinyl gloves to keep the color from staining my hands.
Purple is the trickiest color for me... I mixed bright pink, teal, and a bit of red all together.
Roll out the colored dough in long lines & place next to one another.
Roll out the dough to app. 1/4" thick.
Next, take the other half of your uncolored dough & roll that out to 1/4" thick...then place it on top of your rainbow stripe dough. Smooth it out with your rolling pin & then begin to roll up the dough like a jelly roll parallel with your rainbow stripes, so that way you'll get all the colors in your individual cookie slices.
Then slice your dough like this.... between 1/4-.5" thick.
Reshape your cookie slices to be more rounded & place them a couple inches apart on a cookie sheet.
Bake for 8-10 minutes at 325 degrees F.
Enjoy & share with friends!

Holiday shopping for unicorn jewelry couldn't be easier! If you're looking for a unicorn glitter necklace, isewcute on etsy can fix you right up with something you won't be able to find anywhere else!
I'm mad about unicorns! In fact, I have a whole unicorn shop section dedicated to my unicorn crafting. I've always adored unicorns, but my daughter is the drive behind the need for me to come up with new designs all the time. She is my biggest inspiration. Whenever she wears one of her custom isewcute creations to school, she is the envy of all the girls.
I've made some new designs this season & wanted to share!
I've been expanding my line of unique unicorn jewelry items & now have pieces like this wonderful winter themed unicorn brooch. This would look gorgeous pinned to a lovely sweater, coat, or purse. It's a fabulous winter accessory...not just for little girls.
I made this little pastel rainbow kawaii glitter heart ring to coordinate with my original unicorn glitter heart necklace.
If you're looking for something that really stands out & will be sure to get you noticed, I make custom unicorn big glitter resin heart rings like this cherry red heart with shiny silver unicorn silhouette! It's a showstopper at app. 2' wide by 2" tall. One of my personal favorites!
I have also created some dangly glitter resin unicorn earrings like these bright rainbow resin hearts! If you don't see them in the shop, or would like a custom glitter blend, message me on Etsy!
It's all about pink, pink, pink with these pretty ponies!
but for some girls, pink just won't do... so I made this gorgeous glittery unicorn necklace in lovely lavender!
I've even created some unicorn nebula jewelry in my galaxy jewelry line.
This colorful rainbow bright unicorn necklace features a white unicorn silhouette, a rainbow palette of various glitters, & stars. It's available for purchase in my etsy shop.
There is also a ring available in a bright colorful glittery rainbow blend!
My winter unicorn necklace is popular this time of year with the changing of the seasons & with winter nearly upon us here in the northern hemisphere.
I've even made a one of a kind Hanukkah unicorn statement necklace!
I have more designs available in the shop that I haven't posted here...so stop by & take a peek if you believe in unicorns or know someone who does!

One of a Kind Resin Jewelry - New Projects by isewcute on Etsy
Cute new lockets I've been working on this week to add to the shop very soon... baby fawn in the snow & kawaii kitten. I've been considering adding solid perfume inside them. I've been having so much fun making new things inspired by my little girl & she would love to find one of these in her Christmas stocking...especially if it were full of marshmallow scented perfume.
If you're looking for a fun little unique gift or stocking stuffer for a special girl, check out my personalized custom name & initial jewelry or my Christmas Winter section of the shop. Many items are one of a kind & all handmade by me.
If you're ordering a name or initial personalized necklace, please get your orders in early so I have plenty of time to work on your custom creation! I may be taking some time off toward the end of December.

Spring French Knot Embroidery Hoop Wall Art by I Sew Cute
Oh my poor neglected craft blog! How I've missed you!!! It's been a heck of a year & although I've worked on many projects, I haven't taken any time to blog about them. You could say that life got in the way earlier this year when my youngest was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. She is thriving now & I have become used to our new lifestyle in caring for her, so I intend to flood this blog with posts on things I worked on over the course of the past few months.
This is a hoopla I did for a swap on craftster. The swap theme was your favorite season & my partner chose spring. I thought it was a great opportunity to do a hoop in a rainbow garden of wee French knots...which remind me of little flower buds ready to bloom!
First, I wrote the word 'spring' on sticky-backed paper & cut out the letters. I stuck them to my fabric in the hoop (loving this oval shape so much for this project).
Next, I began stitching little French knots all around the letters...being sure to not stitch into or under the paper letters. They were masking off the word for me. I used maybe 30 or 40 different colors of floss in this project, but you could use your favorites in any color combo you choose.
This is how it looks after removing the paper letters. I think I may do this again. Making the French knots was so relaxing in a time of much anxiety & like knitting, I found it very calming & zen like.
I hope I've inspired you to give this embroidery method a try! Happy stitching!
