Making A Sick Child Smile With a Mason Jar of Fallen Stars
I like looking on the bright side of things way more than dwelling in negativity, however it is sometimes difficult when life throws you those unexpected curves.
My babygirl hasn't been well all winter long it seems. We have undergone a bunch of tests & hope to have some answers this week. A prayer has been answered already in that she doesn't have something I was very concerned about. Once we do find out what is going on, we can then move forward on the road to wellness. Like any mom, I'd do anything to make her feel better. Necessity is the mother of invention!
I thought to take her mind off her discomforts as she's drifting off to dreamland this evening, she might enjoy watching a twinkling jar of stars flickering from her makeshift bedside table.
Best idea I've had all day!
The stars are handcast clear resin with a sprinkling of glitter tossed into a jelly jar along with one of those little battery operated tealights! Voila! Almost instant magic!
She fell asleep in about 2 minutes without worries of monsters!
I think we'll be using the star jar even when she's well!

Love it! such a brilliant idea hope she feels better really soon!
What a wonderful and special thing to do for your daughter. I am very inspired to make something similar; probably because my daughter is sick today, too. It's so hard to see our little ones feeling under the weather.
I hope your baby girl feels better very soon!
Thank you for the kind words guys! It's been a rough winter for us & a lot of sleepless nights for me. Creativity & my regular craft projects have had to take the back burner a lot, but times like tonight, I just get so inspired & have craft therapy! I'm just so thankful that my boy is so healthy & that this isn't rubbing off on him!
I'm sorry your punkin' hasn't been up to par this winter; it's such a scary and helpless feeling, I know. I hope you do get some solid answers this week.
The mason jar 'o stars is beautiful.
Very creative and special! Wishing lots of good karma your way. I hope your daughter starts feeling better soon. I'm sure she knows how much you love her. After all, you brought the stars to her.. ;)
Thank you! Your kind words are bringing me much comfort! I appreciate you!!!
I love it! What a great idea! I hope your sweet little ginger gets to feeling better! Spring is on it's way I'm sure!
The poor thing! I hope she's right as rain and you're a-ok and stress free in no time at all. Now, those stars... I need some for my room! I ADORE them!
You are an amazing person. And the most creative mommy.
